Will Our Micro Or Premium Kits Fit A Commercial Panel Van Or Combi Van?
Our Micro and Premium camper conversion kits are designed primarily for passenger vehicle versions rather than commercial panel vans.
That said, in some cases our kits can be suitable for panel vans or combi/crew vans — but compatibility depends on a few key details.
1. Does your van have a bulkhead?
Unfortunately, our kits are not compatible with vehicles that have a bulkhead.
In some cases, a bulkhead can be removed, but this isn’t always straightforward or even possible. We recommend checking this carefully before assuming compatibility.
2. Is your van L1 (SWB) or L2 (LWB)?
- L2 / Long Wheelbase (without a bulkhead): Our kits are compatible.
- L1 / Short Wheelbase: Compatibility depends on the front passenger seat setup (see below).
3. What front passenger seat do you have? (L1 / SWB only)
- Three front seats: Our kits are not compatible.
- Two front seats, where the passenger seat:
- slides forward and backward, and
- has backrest tilt adjustment
→ our kit will be compatible.
4. Does the van have rear seats?
For combi or crew vans (commercial vans with rear seats), the same compatibility rules above apply.
For panel vans with no rear seats, the kit will require additional support legs:
- These can be fabricated by you (for example, using sturdy boxes or supports), or
- We can supply and fit support legs for you at a small additional cost.
Just let us know if you’d like this included.
Other Important Considerations
If your van does not have rear seats, you may need to secure the unit to the floor to prevent forward movement in the event of an accident.
We’ll leave this decision to you, but we strongly recommend considering safety carefully in this situation.
